Industry 4.0 steps forth: Barberán implements RFID technology on its wrapping machinery to improve production

Barberán S.A., market leader in industrial machinery for surface finishing, has implemented RFID technology in its wrapping machinery.

The PUR-33-SI, a bilateral wrapping machine, includes this technology that takes a step forward in the implementation of measures to facilitate production processes. Although this wrapping machine already had an automatic revolver for the change of tools, with multiple tools and configurations adapted to different types of profile, this innovation facilitates the task of the production operator.

The wrapping machine itself stores recipes according to profile types. The necessary toolbars are identified with unique codes; after reading an RFID code, a PC indicates which bar is chosen according to the IDs that emit these and positions the bars necessary for the production of said profile.
